Take Pride and Share Your Most Innovative Store Design with the Industry

You may also just happen to be recognized as one of the visionary leaders in grocery store design when you enter the Progressive Grocer Store Design Contest.

Five categories -- including new ground-up construction, as well as three budget levels ranging from modest to “sky’s the limit” -- give operators of every shape and size a chance to be recognized. Enter today!
1. Entries are due no later than April 1, 2010. All others may be disqualified.

2. Clearly indicate the store design award category you are entering as follows:
• Best Original Store Design (new ground-up construction)
• Best Interior Design (new ground-up construction)
• Best Low Cost Remodel (less than $1 million)
• Best Mid-Budget Remodel ($1 to $3 million)
• “The Sky’s the Limit” Remodel (more than $3 million)

3. Multiple entries in each category are permitted as long as the designs are different and unique.

4. All entries must include a completed official entry form, a brief description of the store, design/remodel objectives, challenges and results (i.e. sales, customer traffic, etc.), as well as before-and-after images for remodels, if possible. Please enclose a MAC formatted disk with an Illustrator EPS or high-res jpeg/tiff of your store(s) before and after if applicable, as well as your company logo (retailer and designer). These images will be used to judge entries and will also serve as the basis for the awards and editorial coverage.

5. Construction of eligible store designs and remodels must have been completed between January 2009 and December 2009. Concept designs not yet constructed and open for business are ineligible.

6. Send entries and supporting materials all in the same package to: Michelle Moran, Progressive Grocer, 1924 Aska Road, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.

7. Each entry requires a handling fee of $125. Checks should be made payable to Progressive Grocer.

8. Winners will receive: an engraved award, recognition, and coverage in an issue of Progressive Grocer.

9. Entries will be judged on innovation, creativity, and the positive impact of the overall design and / or remodel on the retail business.

10. Judging and voting will be conducted by a Blue Ribbon Panel of editors and writers of Progressive Grocer and other Nielsen Business Media retail and design trade magazines.
