Stater Bros. to open 13 Chase Full-Service In-Store Banking Branches

March 8, 2010

JPMorgan Chase & Co. plans to open 13 new full-service Chase bank branches in Stater Bros. Supermarkets in San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties by mid-year, bringing Chase to more 730 branches in California. Five of the locations opened yesterday.

According to Jack H. Brown, chairman and CEO of San Bernardino-based Stater Bros., “Our customers will definitely benefit from the added convenience of shopping for groceries and handling their banking needs all at one location.”

Each Stater Bros. Chase branch will include an ATM and operate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The branches will offer a full-range of banking services, from checking accounts to mortgages and investment services.

“The 13 new locations are part of Chase’s strategy and commitment to significantly grow its branch network in California and will make Chase even more convenient for our customers, who will be able to get a lot accomplished in one stop,” said Pablo Sanchez, Chase’s region executive.

Chase — which operates 320 branches in supermarkets in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Illinois, Idaho, Louisiana and Texas — plans to hire about 100 employees to provide personal banking, lending and financial advising services to customers of the 13 branches.

Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets in Southern California.
