Salemville’s Crazy for the ‘Red, White & Blues’

June 30, 2010

With the Fourth of July nearly here, DCI Cheese Co. has unfurled “Red, White & Blues,” an all-American sweepstakes giving fans of the DCI brand Salemville’s blue-veined cheeses the chance to win a trip for two to Washington worth $2,500. Traditional mail-in entry forms will be available at promotional displays in the specialty cheese sections of participating retailers across the country through Aug. 31.

Additionally, shoppers can find contest rules and an online entry form at www.dcicheeseco.com. Instant redeemable coupons (IRCs) will be offered throughout the promotion on select Salemville blue and gorgonzola cheeses, including 4-ounce wedges and 4-ounce crumbled cups.

“Salemville is a great summer cheese,” said Dominique Delugeau, SVP of sales at Richfield, Wis.-based DCI. “It’s perfect on salads, and also works well on grilled foods like hamburgers and steaks. This patriotic-themed promotion was a natural for us, combining an important summer holiday with one of our favorite artisanal cheeses.”

Salemville’s blue and gorgonzola cheeses are created by an Amish community in Cambria, Wis. All of the brand’s offerings are farmer-certified rBGH-free, rich in calcium and contain no preservatives or chemical additives.
