A&P Appoints New SVP, Operations

The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Inc. (A&P) has hired Mark Kramer as its new SVP, operations. He succeeds Paul Wiseman, who has left the company.

Kramer’s extensive grocery retail operations experience, which spans over 20 year in various management positions, includes a stint at Pathmark before acquisition by A&P. His most recent position was regional VP, operations for Camp Hill, Pa.-based Rite Aid Corp.

“Mark’s comprehensive background and strategic skill set will undoubtedly put our operations team on the path forward to our successful turnaround,” noted A&P president and CEO Ron Marshall.

Montvale, N.J.-based A&P operates 433 stores in eight states and the District of Columbia under the following banners: A&P, Waldbaum’s, Pathmark, Best Cellars, The Food Emporium, Super Foodmart, SuperFresh and Food Basics.
