GMA Taps Belcastro as EVP for Industry Affairs, Membership Services

June 20, 2010

Denny Belcastro has been appointed EVP for industry affairs and membership services at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), effective July 7.

Belcastro “is a respected leader in our industry, with strong relationships in the manufacturer and retailer communities,” noted Pamela G. Bailey, president and CEO of the Washington-based trade group. “His strategic vision, leadership skills and industry experience make him the ideal person to move GMA’s industry affairs and membership services platforms to an even higher level of effectiveness.”

Belcastro is currently VP of customer development and industry affairs at Northfield, Ill.-based Kraft Foods North America, where he oversees the company’s integrated focus on customer collaboration and overall business relationships within the industry. During a 35-year career in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, he has also held key positions at Nabisco and Standard Brands. Belcastro is a member of the board of directors of the National Grocers Association, and additionally serves on several committees at GMA, Food Marketing Institute, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the LPGA Advisory Council.

Todd Turner, GMA VP of industry affairs, and Patrick Brookover, the association’s VP of membership and meeting services, will report to Belcastro. The three will work together to achieve strategic alignment and an increased level of engagement for GMA member companies.
