Cold Comfort

CryoSTAT treats hemorrhoids on contact with cold therapy. With no unpleasant odor or messy gels, creams or wipes, the easy-to-use, noninvasive product targets swelling, itching and pain to provide prompt, soothing relief, according to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company. The suggested retail price for a box of six disposable soft-cloth cold-therapy packs is $12.99. Additional information is available by visiting www.cryo-stat.com.

Who Improved My Cheese?

Developed in line with the National Salt Reduction Initiative, a New York City-led partnership of national health organizations, cities and states to decrease salt in packaged goods by 20 percent over the next five years, Land O' Lakes is introducing 30% Less Sodium American Deli Cheese Product behind deli counters. According to the St. Paul, Minn.-based company, it's the only service deli cheese manufacturer to feature a lower-sodium American cheese made with sea salt, which enables the 5-pound blocks to retain full cheese flavor. The packaging sports a broad green band stretching across the width of the loaf and calling out the feature. The product is available in White and Yellow varieties. For more information, visit www.landolakes.com.

Natural Progression

Although it's been around since 1887, Log Cabin is still innovating with the first-ever nationally distributed All Natural pancake syrup. Coming hard on the heels of the removal of high-fructose corn syrup from all of the line's products, and driven by growing consumer demand for items with no artificial colors or flavors, the new item, a blend of natural sugar and maple syrup, offers the same delicious taste that has made Log Cabin a breakfast mainstay for well over a century, according to the brand's Mountain Lakes, N.J.-based manufacturer, Pinnacle Foods Group, LLC. A 22-fluid-ounce bottle retails for a suggested $4.99. Visit www.logcabinsyrups.com to find out more.

Secret Weapon

The first and only whole grain rice that looks and tastes like white rice, Uncle Ben's Whole Grain White product line allows household meal preparers to sneak better-for-you ingredients into dinner. Made with natural ingredients and low in fat, the new items provide a good source of fiber and nearly the entire recommended daily amount of whole grains, according to Uncle Ben's, a brand of McLean, Va.-based Mars, Inc. The line, which is ready to eat in just 10 minutes, comes in Long Grain, Chicken, Cheddar Broccoli, Taco Style and Sweet Tomato varieties, with an approximately 5-ounce box retailing for a suggested $2.29. Learn more by visiting www.UncleBens.com.

Daily Bread

"Fancy" French bread is now available at a not-so-fancy price, courtesy of New Haven, Conn.-based Chabaso Bakery. The artisan baker is offering the Classic Baguette, a handcrafted, all-natural, hearth-baked item, for an everyday price of just $1.99 per loaf. According to Chabaso founder Charles Negaro: "We begin with a yeast starter, mix carefully, hydrate, ferment and let the dough rise. Then we knead it and shape it just enough to retain the bubbles that make the airy holes that transform the dough into crispy crust and a soft, light center. It comes in a unique 'Freshness' bag, specially developed to retain the baking-process moisture while still allowing the bread to 'breathe' and keep its crispy crust." Chabaso makes over two dozen varieties of loaves and rolls, all containing no preservatives, little or no fat, and no trans fats — ever. Call (203) 562-9007 or visit www.chabaso.com for more information.
